    Hello from Brugge (Bruges) Belgium.

Welcome Marty. It is not a surprise the amount of material that is available on the US's entry into WWI. 1 year compared to 4 is a significant difference but can you imagine the consequences if the US had not joined!!!! Mark

Speaking of Forces Postal Services at the time, an interesting history in itself, but 2 to 3 days from front line to home address in UK is an incredible achievement. Nowadays with various Customs Rules etc it takes close to 2 weeks for a letter from Belgium to UK. Progress over 100 years on.. 🤭

Under collections - not just Pickelhaubes?

Lars no problem. Glad to be of interest but believe me I am far from having all the 'critical' accessories. Inevitably items made with canvas/ersatz/leather for example and that were designed for front line use/service are by now save a few examples all rotten/disintegrated/long gone. But the...

Under collections - not just Pickelhaubes?

An example of an early MG tool box, gunners drag straps and some ZF12's..

Under collections - not just Pickelhaubes?

Under collections - not just Pickelhaubes?

I think there are quite a few 08s and 08/15s still in the States, either live fire or dummy guns. Of cse condition is a factor but as with everything the accessories are the challenge. I suspect in the US the vast majority of accessories are in private hands, especially with rules on...
