All Quiet on the Western Front

I've always thought the original was great. I understand that some of the background actors were actual German vets.

Need Parts for this Bavarian Officer's Pickelhaube

I have one that is very similar. I can no sign that it ever had a spike. There is just a hole were the spike would affix, There are no threads nor solder, or any other marks that would show it ever had a spike. The carrying case for the helmet has a strap that run across the interior just where...

    Garde du Corps at parade

Looks to me that there is no standard, just the staff and ribbons.

    Prussian Pioneer officers helmet?

Hopefully some of the more knowledgable members here will post, but ---. The spike pins are not officer's, to me it looks more like a senior NCO's helmet, if it is correct. The Reich's cockade appears to me to be an NCO's but hard to tell. Really need better photos, inside and out

Nice Brunswick Hussar Regiment 17 Reservistenbild with guest

    Here we go again ?

There is a lot wrong with it. Generally there has been a practice not to point out too many "tells" on fakes as it allows the fakers to correct them. But I can say this, it is artificially aged.

    Prussian Landwehr Wappen

It appears that there is no difference in the crosses. Correct?

Two M15 Artillery helmets on a sunny Afternoon.

I noticed that the construction of the two helmets is different. The Prussian appears to be a fiber body, the height of the ball is greater and the reinforcing disc on the inside more than just a flat piece. The Württemberg appears have a leather body, short ball, and flat disc. That is a...

    Another M15 Wurttemburg enlisted helmet

I had a Baden helmet with a non-removable steel spike. Bannerman's listed these spikes in their catalog. I think they wanted 25 cents for one. Wife had 5 Uncles and a Grandfather who all served in Württemberg units during WW1

    Prussian Hussar Tunic

Label is post 1911(interesting in that it has an export label), it appears to me that it may be an officer's from HR12, HR13 or HR16, I'm assuming the color is light blue, hard to tell. Once had a similar one.

    Opinions Please

Looks artificially aged to me, also the rear spine attachment doesn't look correct.

    Is this original?

Chin scales look flat to me. It's from IMA of course it's over priced (but then again the do come up with some interesting items).

    Wappen mold

Some early brass stampings where made with only a female die. Lead would be poured into the female to produce a male. But given the quality of every Wappen I've seen, it appears to me that they were stamped out using both a male and female die of tool steel. The image on this piece is reversed...

    Jager m7/15 straps

Some of my early helmets came way of a collector's divorce. The reason divorces are so expensive is, they're worth it.

Out of shape and looking for a way to get some exercise.

When ever I feel like exercising I lay down until the feeling passes.

    Cyphered M15

I think it may be a II that who ever stitched it didn't want to break it from the machine and was sloppy.
