    Items from the 1864, 1866, and 1870/ 71 Wars

Seeking the following from that era: - Uniforms and headgear - Field gear, firearms, swords, and bayonets - Photos and military passes - 1870 EKs (both 2nd and 1st classes), and medal bars I also collect select similar items for the entire 19th Century, with a focus on Prussia. A sample of the...

    Prussian M1860 Pickelhauben Wanted

Seeking M1860 (or earlier) Pickelhauben/ Tschakos, etc. Prefer unit marked and dated, and those worn during the 1864, 1866, and 1870/ 71 wars.

    M/71 converted Chassepot carbine

BTW, these 2 books are superb! Amazing details on the rifles, accessories, gear, etc, of that era, as well as some veteran accounts. These brothers also have a number of YouTube videos on shooting them.

    M/71 converted Chassepot carbine

Very nice! I have one if these as well: new barrel, modified sight, Prussian markings, etc. The comment (3rd post) that these were issued in 1876 because the Chassepot was superior to the Dreyse is not correct. They were issued at that point because there was shortage of cavalry carbines after...

    Prussian Cockades Needed

I am hoping to find a large small hole Prussian cockade for a M1857 Kürassierhelm, and a standard one for a M1915 Pickelhaube. Thanks!

    Jager King's Prizes

Steve, yes the example on the cover is a full issue badge. The album is filled with group and individual photos of troops wearing their Kaiserabzeichen.

    The Kaiser’s Prize (Kaiserschiessabzeichen)

A "Paul Meybauer, Berlin" marked example. If we can assume such based on only the backplate being marked. Unlike the "C.E. Juncker" marked examples.

    The Kaiser’s Prize (Kaiserschiessabzeichen)

This is a great thread! Lots of great items and information! Thought I would share a Kaiserliche Marine tunic I picked up last weekend with a Kaiserabzeichen originally sewn on. From what I read here and some other German references, I think it is a Marine issue Kaiserabzeichen.

    Signature

I added a signature to my profile, and saved it. Yet it does not appear on my post. Is there something else I need to do?

Garde Grey Shako , Reserve, Bav and Garde EM Brass ALL SOLD

This is exactly why I tell folks to not buy on eBay unless they know exactly what they are doing. And we know most why buy there do not know what they are doing. "I am not trying to hide anything the pictures tell all." That is a despicable statement! If you know something is wrong with an...

    Activation on Wehrmacht awards

I have been told there have been no problems in signing up. Were you trying to join as a free "Member" or a paying "Association Member"? Did you create an "user ID"?

    Activation on Wehrmacht awards

No problem Tony. I asked in our admin section, but it now appears WAF is down. Hopefully that means positive things are happening.

    Activation on Wehrmacht awards

I moderate 7 sections on WAF. Once you get in you should focus on the items for sale in our E-Stand. There is a Imperial sales section, and there are always EKs for sale. There are also many who prevent fakes from being sold there. I would advise you keep away from eBay, as I have noticed you...
