    Garde Du Corps NCO tunic

Nice ebay score. Thought about it myself, but coming from Turkey, I was a little concerned, especially with such a low price.

Picked up a copy of a book that is a collection of all the Stars & Stripes, the newspaper of the AEF published weekly from February 1918 to June 1919. A wealth of information on the AEF. In the January 10 1919 edition I found this interesting tidbit. It is part of an article about the war...

Obviously a reworked and reissued helmet. Built in 1903, reworked as an M15. Steve

Trip to Idaho and the famous Gus Collection

Looks like a great museum, but the mannequin's pose is a little strange. Looks like he's taking a leak.

My collection of sea caps of the Soviet fleet

Sergei, One of my caps is of different construction, my feeling is it is older than the 1960s. It does not appear to have ever had the stiffener in the brim, and the lining is different. No markings that I can see. Any idea what it might be? Steve

My collection of sea caps of the Soviet fleet

My paltry collection. Most date from the 1960s, my area of interest. Steve

WTB Depaheg Patent Officer's Vulkanfiber Haube

I once owned a Wurttemberg officer helmet set up the same way, short leg to the rear. Fiber helmet body, no extra holes, it was clearly made that way. Almost perfect condition. I thought it was a late helmet, the stars were retained by split pins, not nuts. The base could not be reversed, or the...

    M1895 EM Pickelhaube

Yes, more pictures are needed. Looks like the edges and back might be dyed instead of natural leather, which is bad news. Also no edging lines. I saw aged reproductions 25 years ago that were perfect, so I’m always suspicious. Especially if the kokardes are reproductions. Steve

    M1895 EM Pickelhaube

I believe the chinstrap bears close scrutiny as well. Nice looking helmet though. Steve

    Model 1867 Prussian Canteen

A dilemma. Obviously many European armies copied each other's equipment, look at the entrenching tools of the time. No markings? Steve

    Ebay Guards du Corps helmet

I could also tell stories about Bay State. Definitely not "one of the good guys". Not to cast aspersions on this helmet. He does have some nice things at times. Definite thumbs up for Age Of Kings. Steve

    1910 DWM 8.D marked P.o8

Nice P.08, I like the pre war pieces. Beautiful workmanship. I like the unit marks too, I was always torn between condition and unit marks. Reminds me of the time I was on a Grand Jury in 1976. One of the sheriff’s deputies working in the courthouse was wearing a Luger. I commented on it, and he...

    WTB Pickelhaube Chinstrap

Have to be VERY careful with these. 20 years ago I was at a show and a dealer had several nice leather EM straps. I picked one up to look at it and the dealer told me they were modern repros from Czechoslovakla. I was astounded. I bought one ($25), brought it home and compared it to one of my...
