A Hessian helmet, made by an Alsatian in the Reichsland.

Not a lot of guys with this name in the Verlustlisten, only 7. And 6 of them came from Hessen, one from Württemberg. Yes, you won´t track this guy in the VL because as you know, the Landsturm units were only involved far behind the front line, to guard the railway knots and prison camps. Philippe

What a curious behavior! One enters this forum, asks for an opinion, several erudite collectors give it, the gentleman disagrees and leaves as quickly as he came. So why ask? Hoping for confirmation of what he believes? Good luck 😁

WANTED: Officer Hamburg Kokarde for Pickelhaube

Very hard to find.... This one is the same officer pattern, same size, but with bigger central hole for the M91 side post. It is originally placed on a named RJR 76 EM M95 helmet worn by a Vizefeldwebel with the function of an Offizierstellvertreter. Philippe

    Prussian Garde Train Berlin

Steve, Yes, some OYV bought some equipment from the Kammer! For example, their Diensthelme which were full normal EM helmets and which were the only helmets which were allowed to be worn during duty in the garrison, gards, parades and manoeuvres in the field. They bought them or could also rent...

Grenadier Regiment 4 Officer Helmet Woodwork Find

Alan, a great find, and seldom because this pattern of helmet was only worn from 1911 on in this unit. I think I can read the first line: 4 Grenadier Reg. (to be confirmed). And a name under this line that I am not able to decypher... Philippe

Enlisted man Fusilier Regt 34 helmet

I can unfortunatly find no active officer with this name at the FR33 in the Ehrenrangliste before the war. As he had the rank of Oberleutnant during the war, he should have had the rank of Leutnant before August 1914... Other possibility: this guy was a reserve officer. In this case, one can...
