Rarest to most common German Stahlhelms of WW1

That must have been an amazing sight to see such an amount of different types, sizes and manufacturers together! Interesting to have these listed by the way. Thanks to the topic starter to post it here. I have 4 M16's: BF62 G62 Unknown 64 W66 The third one has no size or maker mark in the...

Battle Damaged M17 Steel Helmet With AEF Mailing Label

If you're looking for a mailed home helmet, this is indeed a great one. Extraordinary that the label has survived in this condition for over 100 years.

You post one rare and gorgeous helmet after another. Do you have some kind of time machine hidden in your basement?

    Fife Light Horse Volunteers

As I don't know the first thing about theseolder British helmets and I've seen quite a few posts recently about them: were they ever worn in combat in some conflict? Or is it more some sort of parade type of headgear?

    Saxon helmets harder to find?

I was just looking at an overview with the number of inhabitants each German state of the Kaiserreich had. I noticed Sachsen had twice as much inhabitants as Baden and Württemberg (about 4.8 against 2.1 and 2.4 million). Since I see Saxon Haubes much less frequent than the other 2, I found this...

helmet sent home for school children to see

Doesn't have to be. House numbers 100 years ago are often not the same as now. A lot more houses were added as a result of which existing numbers changed over the years.

    Some pieces - Grabenmaxx

Hi Gabe, Thank you. Unfortunately this one has no scabbard. They are very hard to find. A regular scabbard would not fit since the Torpedomesser is several centimeters longer and the blade is a bit wider as well.

A coincidence, or someone took apart two items from the same legacy to make a few euros more. Would be very disappointing.

    Some pieces - Grabenmaxx

And here the glengarry from the royal scots fusiliers. A couple of years ago I bought this pre-war dress uniform which also happens to be from the RSF so I think it nicely fits. :)

    Some pieces - Grabenmaxx

I mainly collect German and French helmets and bayonets. But I had some British stuff and recently traded a Pickelhaube against an early type Brodie helmet and a glengarry so wanted to share some pictures. In the middle the first rimless type of the brodie which was introduced in 1915. At the...

    The Jensen collection Part IV

Using glasses to support and display Pickelhauben is indeed a good way. I've been using different types of glasses for years, as long as they indeed have a large enough circular base (I use mostly Duvel and Ice-tea glasses, if you're familiar with those). But I know someone who used this small...
