    Reproduction IR 22 Pickelhaube

Thanks to this great forum and all the advice we get I was able to let a person I have bought items from in the past know that this Pickelhaube he has for sale is a reproduction. He has since changed his listing to reflect that. Classic British fake from what I see. Link to the full listing...

Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA) Pre-War Officer's Dress Forage Cap

Also got this at the same auction as the Pickelhaube Inkwell. One of my favourites now given my service with the RCA. My apologies for the dusty lint covered pictures with the whiter background - they were from the auction site. Much cleaner now.

Couldn't resist this Pickelhaube Inkwell at a recent Canadian auction. Two pictures in my display and some from the auction listing.

    Opinions on Wappen

Seeking opinions on this wappen. Have never had one of this type. Thinking of bidding on it. Some strange work on the back with the weird middle fastener etc. Thought? Thanks. Peter

    Imperial Saxe-Coburg-Gotha police commander Pickelhaube

Could not resist any more. Thanks Remy at Age of Kings for facilitating the purchase. Cant wait to get it. The Queen Victoria and Prince Albert connection helped get the wife onside LOL. Really looking forward to it arriving.

    Pre-1987 Baden

Opinions? Should this have two cockades? It is military? Thanks. Peter

28 Regiment Von Goeben Shoulder Strap

My first pickelhaube (in the picture) is from this regiment and named. Although my collection has really grown, this is my first and will always have a special place in my heart. I just received an original shoulder strap to display with it, which I got from Brian at Bay State Militaria. I...

    French Trench Art Inkwell

Okay so I have a weakness for trench art and really like this piece. French inkwell with a French Infantry helmet and a Verdun crest. Really well made. I may have a few too many pictures...... With and without flash.

Cutting slots in Adrian helmet shims

Anyone have and good ideas for cutting slots in Adrian helmet shims? I tried previously and snapped the shim in two. I think I used a screwdriver blade at the ime.

    Interesting Trench Art

I don't have this in hand yet but it a really interesting piece of trench art. German 7.7 cm shell casing made into a cap. Pickelhaube knopf on the front and British General Service buttons on the side and neat chinstrap made of wire. I suspect it was made by a British soldier based on...

    Opinions

Is this a total piece of garbage or a wartime made item? Not sure why the pictures aren't showing and you have to click them? Fixed it - was a format issue. Thanks.

    Thoughts on this one

Looks like an M1895 but weird how there is grey under the gold paint. I remember some discussion about gold wash/paint. Not an M1915 as no removable spike. So why the grey colour underneath in spots and the gold paint? Any thoughts? Multiple paint jobs by a collector? Chinstrap looks...

    Interesting Bayonet and Frog

I got this bayonet and frog pretty cheaply and find it quite interesting. There are markings on the frog so that at least is WWI and I read something like BM VII f. The frog also does not have the usual middle rivets but has the strange (very old looking) attachments at the bottom which I have...

Prussian (Hessen?) M1908 converted to M1916

I picked this up yesterday. Similar to another hemet discussed on this site here: https://www.pickelhaubes.com/xf/threads/pickelhaube-officers-1st-year-volunteer-turned-into-a-m15-pickelhaube-with-cardboard-visors.16251/#post-112289 Hard to make out but I think it is JR 116 on the left of...

My latest acquisition and my first Schirmmutze. Advertised as DR Regt 22 and Tony S. says it could be. I am very happy with it. :) Peter

    Help with this Mini-Adrian

Any ideas what this helmet is supposed to represent? It looks like infantry but with with the silver colour and the two strange ridges or whatever they are at the top back I am not sure? Have not seen it in person but looks like they might have holes in them to put something. The seller...

    Adrian M15

I too caught the Belgian Adrian bug. And sometimes miracles happen. Found this one two hours from my house so four hours of driving to pick it up last night but well worth it, as it only cost me $40 Canadian so about $30 USD. Sometimes you just get lucky. I wonder what hit the soldier on...
