It really amazes me how much effort these deceivers/fakers put into trying to rip collectors off, if they put this much effort into a real career they could really do something positive with their lives. Happy to see a beginner post here for opinions before being ripped off. (y)

Sadly, it's just one of the many ways Steve will be missed. I used to love to see the many photos Steve would post from his vast collection. Most of the time someone only had to mention a regiment or unit, and he would post some pictures. He is really missed.

I'm no expert on Shakos but I have to agree the stamps only logical and of course the easiest explanation for being there would be that it was placed there at the time of manufacture. As collectors one of the first things, we do when inspecting a helmet for possible purchase or authentication...

This could go on forever, the first photos that started this thread looked bluer that's why I said Train, Then we got other photos that looked more darker purple that's when I said Uhlan18. What is the true color?? I don't know but neither of the groups of photos given so far have convinced me...
