A Garde Infanterie M95 enlisted haube came my way.

My salesperson was, and is indeed honest. He is also a forummember by the way. :) 👍 Thanks for the info on Eigentum's helmets!

A rather battered Saxon M95 enlisted helmet. It shows it has been used.

I fully agree with you. My thoughts too.

Prussian Artillery, new to the collection :)

Don't worry about it Steve. Everybody, just like myself can get it wrong. And you know, even that I'm on this site a long time, I still learn everyday. It's quite a very interesting hobby of ours, collecting these helmets. Regards, Coert. :) (y)

This one came to me a week or 2 ago, a rather well used Saxon M95 enlisted helmet. It sure shows its age.

A Garde Infanterie M95 enlisted haube came my way.

No Steve, it is a private purchased helmet, according to Sander, from whom I bought it. I trust him, a respected seller here in The Netherlands.

Prussian Artillery, new to the collection :)

I now know that, was confused by the post about a Fuss artillerie helmet, which was corrected by Clovis today.. It was indeed the other way around..

Prussian Artillery, new to the collection :)

A very nice Fuss-artillerie helmet, Fuss artillerie as the rear spine has no vent on it, Feld artillerie helmets did have the vent. Nicely marked and all correct, a great helmet for a good price.

    Prussian PickelHaube 1895 questions

Well, to me it looks like an M15, but with several parts on it that are not original to the helmet. Spike looks original, but it has been gold-painted, Officer rear spine, and the large Kokarden on it, which are not suitable on an M15, and also repro's.. I'd pass on it if I were you. It has to...

Prussian Artillery, new to the collection :)

Congratulations! From what I see, a nice original Artillerie haube. Am looking forward to seeing more pictures of it. Reichkokarde looks fine by me too. Regards, Coert.

I, like you, visited Essex Farm Cemetary several times, you also probably saw the regimental aid post bunkers there too? These were later in the war protected with concrete, in the time when John McCrae was there, that wasn't the case.

    Pickelhaube M15

It is, like Amy said, a nice original reserve officers pickelhaube. You are right, better to ask here before you buy a helmet, and later find out it isn't what it was said it was. Fakes are common. But good reference books can also prevent you from buying a fake helmet.

    Pickelhaube M15

I agree with Gabe on this, also, the front visortrim is still in brass. It could be a nice one though.(A reworked M95, turned into an M15) Regards, Coert.

    militaria fair in ciney, belgium

Yes they do, but hey, they're Americans. They think they know it all, but they do not. Europe is quite different, versus the US. And that means socially, but also historically. I can go much further than that, but I won't.

    militaria fair in ciney, belgium

Yep, they seem to like West Vleteren more, it is a nice one, but I like several of the ones you posted. In fact, in my village is a specialist store which sells almost every one you have shown. :) 🍻

Now you've got me wanting to go to Ypres agian, and not only to visit it once more, which is great, but for those excellent fries they serve in Belgium. By the way, when I visit Belgium, I alway's take home those excellent Trappist beers too.

Which Bavarian Kokarde for M15 Pickelhaube?

I agree with James, I have 3 Bavarian helmets here, one M95 with the silver kokarde, and 2 M15's, one infantry, with the white kokarde, while the M15 Artillery has the silver version. Regards, Coert.
