    In this photo does anyone know what the circular stamp on the blade is? It looks like a French proof mark. I've got an officer's sword with a scabbard that has the ring on the lower band. Don't see that too often. Are there any Prussian acceptance stamps on the blade or guard?

    Here is an 1814 line versus an 1845 guard front plate. The main differences are that the 1845 has the stichblatt and the studs for the shoulder straps are lower. The 1814 back plate shoulder straps fit the 1814 front plate nicely (they are a bit too short to reach the studs on the 1845)
