"Führer durch Heere und Flotte", by Friedag (the 1914 edition is digitized by Google) and the "Bekleidungsordnung" (at least the 1903 edition) are good contemporary sources wrt the Haarbusch.

They used to sell electronic copies of Uniformes Magazine issues on 1001mags, but the website seems to have disappeared. I really like them, as you can zoom in and see more detail than in the printed version.
