Very nice casing Dane! I have one too, it sits on my window sill, it's home to one of my cactusses (variant) now. Has a couple of handles attached to it, I bought it years ago at a fleamarket in the Ypres region. I have several other casings, 2 77mm ones near my collection in the livingroom...

The spike is from a regular infantry M15. The correct spike for an M15 Jäger zu Pferde is longer.

I was watching this helmet, it went for 1175€ on ebay. I didn't buy it, but was following it to see how it would end.

Very sad news @Reingold ... But, I am also a member on our Dutch motorcycle forum, one of the members there is also a Russian guy, a nice guy working in a motorcycle museum. I can ask him how he fixed this issue, as he is still active on our forum. I hate to see you go because of this...

I also use glasses for displaying my helmets. The nice thing about them, is they are fairly invisible, and, also you can find them in different height sizes. Find the right size, so the visors are about 3cm from the place where you put them for display. It makes them seemingly "floating on air"...
