    Brunswick Question

That is a known copy. All you need to do is look closely and you will see all the casting bubbles. Almost no pebbling on the Bandeau. Wrong shape to the skull, wrong everything. Absolute garbage. Wouldn’t pick it up if this was in a ditch. So bad that I need to wash my eyeballs now.

The Jensen Collection Part VI (Collection over time)

Quite possibly the most unique and memorable thread that we’ve ever had on this Forum. Time-lapse photography with a collection. Fantastic!

Increased WHAT’S NEW to 25 new postings.

Hello everyone. When you tap WHAT’S NEW to see the latest postings, it had been set to only 10. This was frustrating as only 10 of the new postings were shown and then users had to flip through page after page of only 10 new postings. That is now set to 25. So now when you tap on WHAT’S NEW you...

    Ventilation system

Love these unusual ventilation systems. A person could narrow in on these and make a collection of just helmets with unusual ventilation. Very nice Amy!

    New helmet and newly complete!

Dane allow me to clarify. For years I had thought that the metal top and chin straps on a Tschapka were “probably” a 1914/15 Ersatz replacement for the leather. This is only my opinion. When I wrote the page for the helmet below, I had not considered the 1915 Friedens-Uniform. So my opinion has...

    Uhlan - Real or Fake?

Years ago we had Militaria shows, but they are gone now. Some sellers used to remove the grey from wartime helmets because it “looked better”. I always had a magnet in my pocket, and if the magnet stuck, it was steel that had been cleaned up. Magnets will not stick to nickel silver.

    Help............IR92 Other ranks Plate

To my eye that looks like an original. Yes it has cut out crown which is typical for private purchase. The soldiers and NCOs were not permitted to wear the large three dimensional officer Totenkopf. The most telling feature to me is the Bandeau on both eagle and Totenkopf. Pebbling is perfect as...

Problem with this Wappen... M-Strelitz FAR 24

Philippe could you please elaborate on “three points soldered together“. I don’t understand this.

    New helmet and newly complete!

That is indeed a very nice Tschapka. Frosty! A time traveller. With the non-removable tin top and leather chinstrap, it could be a 1914 Ersatz, but it’s probably a 1915 Friedens-Uniform (future peacetime uniform). Very difficult to find. Did you peek inside the shell for a date? I have a...

    Guard Kurassier Regiment kurass

Bob look for a stamp A.WOLLERS. This was a stamp used by a known French maker of French Cuirass. Olaf, the Cuirass shoulder straps are held onto the back armour with a removable bolt. Front with back weigh an impressive almost 8600 gram, with most of it on the chest. The straps were easily...
