Dear Clovis, you're right. You truly have a skilled and infallible eye, and you never miss a single detail. I actually used a dragoon helmet, temporarily mounted with a kugel for demonstration purposes (unfortunately, I don't currently have a Württemberg artillery helmet).

To continue on the topic here is a greatcoat model 1894 from the same old owner: an one-year volunteer of the mounted battery of the 1th Guards Field Artillery Regiment. I really love the light shade of grey of these greatcoats. Believe me, it was not easy to find this set.

Still on the subject of artillery, today I'll show you one of my favorite jackets. It's a one-year volunteer tunic from the prussian 1th Garde Feldartillerie Regiment. The red three-flame grenade on the white shoulders identifies it as a horse drawn battery (Fahr Abteilung). I love a lot the...

This tunic is from the royal Saxon 2. field artillery regiment n.28, the same of the previous one. It was in the XII army corps and garrisoned in Bautzen. Interestingly, the cypher of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia was dropped in 1917 along with the cyphers of all "enemy" rulers. Before the war and...

Garde Dragoner Regiment 1 in Feldgrau

Fab A rare and fantastic piece that any collector would love to have in their collection. It doesn't surprise me at all that it's in Dave's collection. The spiked helmet is also a truly excellent piece. Congratulations, Dave.
