Recent Frustration Shipping to the USA

I had the easiest shipment recently with a helmet coming from Australia into the EU. I must say I was a bit nervous since it was sent as a gift with a value of 25 dollars (needless to say that wasn't the real value) but after it finally arrived in the country it was released by customs after one...

Extraordinary setting to sit and enjoy your collection room. It's like you're in a general staff meeting with Hindenburg and the Kaiser.

Casing for the Krupp 21 cm Mörser 10/16

Since several members added interesting pictures and info regarding german shell casings in general, I would like to throw in a picture of my 77mm carying basket as well. It's in very good condition and I've always liked it a lot. And, in my opinion, a very cool and very rare piece I...

Casing for the Krupp 21 cm Mörser 10/16

As far as I know it was always transported separated. Having the projectiles and shell casings moved as a whole is heavy but more importantly much more dangerous when being hit by (counter battery) shell fire.

Prussian M15 Garde find and restore

That's a nice helmet indeed. I like the look of the M15 garde helmets. For some reason I have not crossed them at the right moment but patience is a virtue. :) Thanks for posting the before and after pictures and welcome to the forum!

Bavarian pickelhaube just purchased help with markings

That's correct. The front line troops at the start of the battle of Verdun were the first to receive a Stahlhelm. In the beginning these stayed there. So when units were relieved or rotated, the newly arrived soldiers took over the M16 helmet. German regiments usually stayed way longer in the...

Dragoner Regiment 11 mod. 1860 pickelhaube - untouched condition

This is really cool and unexpected to find over 80 years after the area came to Poland for good. You should look for an accompanying helmet again. Would make a great display! :)

    "Festungs-Pionier Bataillon Nr. 23" Pickelhaube

That is a great looking helmet! I love the light color of the liner. The helmets of Philippe are very nice as well. I love their markings, especially on the felt helmet because that's not that common. The former eastern territories are indeed an intruiging piece of history. I believe there are...
