This one recently arrived but wanted to check what you think about the wappen. It looks a bit like it belonged to a bigger Haube, but this is already a relatively large size. All other helmets I have, have a Wappen with a tight fit to the Haube. It's not straight out of the woodwork as they say...

For a desirable Ersatz helmet in this condition the price doesn't seem that high in my opinion.

Be sure to visit the nearby cemetery which has the first and last commonwealth soldier killed in the war. It's a very beautiffully mixed graveyard with German and British graves.

I visited the museum last year. I was really impressed. The collection is really nice and of high quality. It's partly focused on the (medieval) Military history of Tournai but the biggest part is WW1 and also a part WW2. I liked it more than the museum at Mons, which had obviously more money...

A lot of adrians are in notoriously bad condition. It's indeed nog easy to find these well preserved examples. A really fine collection you have there!

He got the helmet from has greatgrandfather, but he does not say it's a family piece. That would give it less emotional value so selling it is not that weird in that case. Just my opinion of course.

I would keep away from this one as well. It's just a regular prussian Haube without any markings, missing parts, repro parts and indeed a loose rear visor.
