I saw this too on another site. Someone did not replace the rear visor, but instead painted/colored it black and added a spine. The 119 on the back is odd, but interesting. This could have been some sort of regiment marking added after. Maybe the 1530 plate is supposed to be a scroll wappen...

I would not buy this helmet.

You would be surprised at what works to polish brass. One time I used R12 pink insulation and it gave the spike a brilliant shine!

It looks legit, just needs some TLC. Also, I believe the body is blackened felt, not vulcan fiber....

No doubt that tail would be a tough one to fix. But considering it's condition it doesn't look that bad. Personally I would leave it as is.
