    Great visit from forum member

Yes, it's almost unbelievable until you see it in person, as to how much of my state of Iowa is planted in corn and soybean crops. The corn is growing very fast now until it starts to tassel and set ears on the corn stalks. An acre of corn in Iowa can emit about 4,000 to 5,000 gallons of water...

SOLD: Model 1915 Prussian Guard Shako complete w/Chinstrap + Kokarde + Feldzeichen

Offered for sale is a nice Prussian enlisted pattern Model 1915 Guard Shako. This was probably a "Liberty Bond" shako, as it shows very little to no wear to it. The black finish is very nice on the exterior. Liner is super nice with no rips or tears to the tongues, and the tongues are...

M15 Prussian Ulan Tschapka enlisted pattern with Rabatte

Here are some more photos showing the rabatte, and the underside of the mortarboard with the rabatte removed. I didn't clean the yellow dust off from the neck of the mortarboard after removing it to show details of the tschapka, and the rabatte.

M15 Prussian Ulan Tschapka enlisted pattern with Rabatte

Hello, Here are photos of the markings inside the tschapka, and the metal fittings do not appear to have been replaced. This tschapka appears to have the original metal grommet holes for the front plate, and the iron/steel metal side posts appear to be original to the helmet as well. Tschapka...

What do I have here. Closest match seems to be a Mecklenburg 1860?

This fireman helmet wappen is a bit different from the typical Mecklenburg-Schwerin wappen we would see on the regular military infantry helmet. This wappen device has the same assorted emblems on it as for Mecklenburg-Schwerin, but the shape of the wappen device placed on the starburst has been...
