Dane, I don't find it rude at all as collectors if we don't ask, we never know. You have to take a shot, and you will be the first to know should I want to move some on. This is only the tip of the iceberg. ;)(y)

Hi Dane,
Congratulations on your latest pick up I'm not really a medals collector but I have picked up many over the years. I really liked this one I added years ago because of it having both the Asian and African medals on the same bar and thought at some point I'd try to find out who wore...
Congratulations(y)
but be careful they can become like potato chips at a cookout even with the best intensions one will never be enough.:oops:
I was watching it as well, someone definitely convinced them that it would be better to end the auction early and sell it to them.
I had big plans for that Helmet. 🤔🥲
Oh well guess neither them nor us will ever know if that was a good decision :ROFLMAO::LOL:
Hi Rob,
I'm Just curious about which helmet or helmets you're referring to when mentioning thin lines and if that is something you see as a 100% tell.
Just trying to clarify for all the newer or younger collectors/members looking in,
Thanks, in advance for your thoughts. (y)
I believe this gentleman is a member here and posted this picture before.
He had a workshop years ago in France and turned them out, seemed like a nice enough fellow. He certainly wasn't trying to fool anyone, I believe he said it was his hobby.
The problem is once they enter the market...
Camo helmets can make even levelheaded collectors with a bit of knowledge and experience throw out all logical thought to justify a purchase or convince even themselves of a helmet's authenticity.
I've seen it countless times.
Isn't anyone else even a little bit suspicious that new members...
Hi Thierry,
Thanks for the confirmation on the date, I posted yesterday on WAF it was1916. Always good to have another corroborating opinion.

Also worth mentioning is that even the Bavarian adopted the ball before it was all over.
To be fair Bavarians have always been and still are very independent and a proud people. ;)
Hi Chuck,
It's a very nice helmet IMO. Even with the problems mentioned I still think it has a lot going for it, all the parts are original, so it has great bones to start with.
It's very possible that the original ball and base were taken off when the vet brought it home which was common to...
I'm not on Facebook but I think Johan is and you can contact him through there and get on the list to purchase direct from him. (y)
His books are made to order so you may have to wait a bit for the next batch to be printed if he doesn't have any on hand.
He is a very nice guy and would be...
Oh my, sorry Brian, I definitely know that.
Not sure if it was a typo or just that I had my buddy Bill on my mind he is having heart problems and I was just talking to his wife this morning checking on his condition.
Again sorry Brian 🫣
Zeb I'm sure I can speak for every member here when I say there is no way you are boring us.
Personally, I have only been clicking the like button and not commenting, so I don't interfere with your FANTASTIC thread.
Beautiful items in beautiful condition world class collection. (y)(y)
MFG...
Holding the cards close to the vest, I don't blame you at all.
When you say your list can stretch for miles, I start to get the picture that you have no end in sight.:ROFLMAO:(y):ROFLMAO:
I'd be curious to learn of ones that you don't already have at least one representative example of.
Everyone has a hunting list, or Holy Grail just what could the Queen still be hunting for.;)
At your level of collecting, sorry but I just have to wonder what those missing pieces...
