Casing for the Krupp 21 cm Mörser 10/16

Very nice casing Dane! I have one too, it sits on my window sill, it's home to one of my cactusses (variant) now. Has a couple of handles attached to it, I bought it years ago at a fleamarket in the Ypres region. I have several other casings, 2 77mm ones near my collection in the livingroom...

One of our members, is going to the other side.

Yes, Jaap, I am late, again, but you know, I still haven't forgotten you! It's been 5 years now, but we will meet again, when I leave this earthly place, for another. Way up there with you. I have had many conversations with Lianne, recently, she also will never forget you. But for now, look...

Well, I personally don't know much about these helmets, but I guess member @RoyalScotsVols will know, and can tell you more about it. He collects helmets like these, it is indeed a British one. Good luck! Regards, Coert.

Stunning finish on this Jager Zu Pferde

The spike is from a regular infantry M15. The correct spike for an M15 Jäger zu Pferde is longer.

Very sad news @Reingold ... But, I am also a member on our Dutch motorcycle forum, one of the members there is also a Russian guy, a nice guy working in a motorcycle museum. I can ask him how he fixed this issue, as he is still active on our forum. I hate to see you go because of this...

    How to properly conserve pickelhaubes?

I also use glasses for displaying my helmets. The nice thing about them, is they are fairly invisible, and, also you can find them in different height sizes. Find the right size, so the visors are about 3cm from the place where you put them for display. It makes them seemingly "floating on air"...

    "Hautboist" -- regimental bandsman, c. 1870s

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oboe Hautboist is the French name for a Hobo, which is an instrument. I guess he was a player on that instrument in 3rd Hessischen IR 83. For your other questions I have no idea, as I know not much about regimental bands, but other members sure will! Good luck...

Bavarian pickelhaube just purchased help with markings

Well, to me a pickelhaube is only original once, later renovations, like another liner might spoil that. But then again, maybe a member here has a good liner in his parts-bin. Some have lots of spare parts in their collections. Regards, Coert.

    Help Identifying this Pickelhabue

You are right @CLOVIS 57 , I also saw that spikebase, which was originally for a removable spike. A parts helmet.

    Help Identifying this Pickelhabue

This one seems a pieced together one, on the inside you see that it once had a kreuzblatt, on the outside a round spikebase is fitted. The visor is also not a round one, but square edged. In my opinion a parts helmet. I can be wrong though..

    some Hessians!

What an excellent collection @CLOVIS 57 , I have only 1 Hessen helmet in my collection, an M15, just like the one you have, on the top row, seen from the right, it is like the second one there, on that row. Cross shaped base, but with a Prussian spike on it. I have been looking for ages to find...
