A little dental mirror works very well to see if an overlay is cast or stamped. There is always a place to wiggle it in to see, without the risk of breaking the mounting prongs.

Even M15 helmets look good in the right lighting. You have a marvellous grouping of M15 Tschapka Gabe. Well done!

Moved it. That is a beautiful Tschako. Nothing wrong with that at all. Who knows why that stamp is there (?), but that is a very nice correct Officers Tschako.

Excellent results Peter. Gently removed decades of dust and grime. It did not appear to remove any of the gilding. Nicely done. P.S. Occasionally I use the method above on my eyeballs…….
