FedEx is usually pretty quick once they get it. Stuff from Weitze gets sent Tuesday and is delivered to New Hampshire on Friday

    Gewehr 98 Markings

Here is an example on a rifle I have. You find the same acceptance stamps on the metal parts too.

    Gewehr 98 Markings

They are acceptance stamps. You find them on many issued German firearms.

    Question on Wappen.

I'm curious what the experts think about this. Is this a period wappen? Or a cheap fake with a faint aroma of curry about it? It appears to have once had a landwehr cross on it, and the holes were plugged. The plugs appear to be made from the same material and are textured to blend in with...

None of the centerpiece items, but some nice 2nd tier pieces. French model kurassier pallasch marked to 1K, 1 DR officers saber, a Cuirass and a LGH pelz

Sadly I don’t think antiques are exempt now. I’ve had to pay them despite the items being marked circa 1900 on the declarations. 10%

Yes Jeff. I’m in the US. They usually ship FedEx and FedEx bills the recipient directly for tariffs. Given the cavalry rich nature of the auction I bid on several items and was fortunate to win 4. I was wondering if the complexity of packing all that was slowing things down.

I wonder if the same collector got both of them. And if they also bought the saddle blanket and saddle bag covers.

Can the moderator please move this into the weapons forum? I had a brain cramp when I posted it. Thanks!

    Kurassier pallasch. Russian style

This style of pallasch was carried by the GKR and Regiments 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8. This one is covered in acceptance stamps, but sadly no unit marks. Accepted into service in 1853, it remains in good shape.

I felt fortunate that the 2 swords I bid on didn't get too crazy. One of them (1 DR officer's) is in the Verlag, The German Cavalry book. I'm willing to accept the vig and the tariffs for that!

That hat is in the Verlag, The German Cavalry. The marking on the inside indicates it was worn by a Freiherr. Would probably be possible to find the owner.
