    M1884 Reischsrevolver holster sought

HI All, I had the misfortune of Other James giving me a nice officer's model double action revolver because he knows it will drive me insane until I find a holster for it. I am looking for one now if anyone has any idea where one can be found.

The Rumors of a new Pickelhaube collector are not true

It has come to my attention that someone has been spreading the rumor that I am a Pickelhaube collector, I want to assure you all that I am not. I do have a few pointy hats in the collection, but that is because I collect WWI crap, and the pointy helmets fit under that criterion. I have...

Lord Strathcona's Horse Colt 1911 pistol

I have been trying to acquire this pistol for several years, and today I was surprised to have it given to me by its previous owner. It was carried by Lt Hill who served in Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadian) during WWI. He has photos of Lt. Hills medals that were retained by the grandson...

Out of shape and looking for a way to get some exercise.

I am getting slow and a bit tubby and thought that it might be a good idea to start a new exercise program. James LeBrasseur suggested I take up pickle ball as a way to get a few of the pounds off. It looks exciting, does anyone have any experience with pickle ball and are there any downsides...

It is beginning to look like I collect spike helmets

I have been trying to resist collecting spike helmets, but due to a shipment to James LeB getting lost in the mail, I think I will have to change my focus in collecting.

Not German, but some of you might appriciate it.

I managed to make an addition to the Commonwealth corner of the bunker recently. It is demiled but works better for displays in public.

A new home for my collection

I have been working on a project in the back yard for the past month. I wanted a better way to store and display my collection, it is based on two 40 shipping containers bolted together with two passages cut between them. The are insulated and walled in and fire or flood are a veru small...

OMG the forum is going to be dowm for 24 hours.

I just got a note from Brian that the forum was going to be down for about 24 hours, he asked me to spread the word, I do not think it occurred to him to post it on the forum so I did. I hope everyone survives, it might be a good time to say "hi" to your significant other during this black out.

    KuK Kriegsmarine

I think the recent flooding has caused me to think about the Navies of the world, I recently bought a KuK Kriegsmarine Kappe off ebay, it is on its way from Germany right now. I passed an Austrian Marine uniform a few years ago because I had not seen a Kappe for sale. This one recently came up...

    British Navy uniform

I have managed to piece together an elusive British Navy uniform. The jumper and broadfall trousers have no markings, so I can not be sure of the vintage. The cap has a tally from a ship that served until 1920, so it could be from WWI or it could have had the tally changed. It came in a tin...

    Stirnpanzer for Christmas

Maggie gave me a great Christmas present, some might remember this from SOS 2016, it goes nice with my panty grabber.

    M1917 rifle grenade and cup

These were found on ebay recently for a very reasonable price, they are relics, but I have never seen an M17 cup that was not, and I can not remember when the last time was when an M17 rifle grenade that was not dug was available. These were a copy of the French VB rifle grenade.

The Chauchat, the first specifically designed assault rifle.

I have been able to ad an example of the Chauchat, the first specifically designed assault rifle. It is not the best example, I would have rather had alive papered one, but this demilled one displays well enough until I can upgrade.

Found in packing wrapped around a book from Norway

I received a book that was shipped form Norway, it would seem that they have a shortage of bubble wrap in Norway, as the book was padded with an old stained strip of cotton cloth dated 1918, it looks rather nice hanging around the neck of one of my action figures:)

    2016 SOS new items

I thought we needed a thread for all the new goodies we got at SOS this year, my bag is a little light, but I did get a couple of 13.2mm T-Gewehr rounds, an interesting tourniquet, a Troddel and a shell to make a base for our Tower of London Poppy, all we need now is a glass bell jar to fit.

    Dog tags and ID books

I am getting a small display ready for the Utah Gun Collector's Association gun show in March in Ogden, Utah. After being successful with a display of water bottles and mess kits, I thought I would push my luck a bit more with a display of dog tags and ID books. We do not have a sub forum that...

New bathrobe in the collection thanks to AGM

This is my latest addition to my small collection, a few years ago, I spotted one of these for sale on ebay.de and got badly out bid. I did not think I would ever see another one for sale, but Jeff is always finding the coolest stuff for the catalog just before SOS to make sure we do not have...
