Thoughts on this one anybody? I realise that with helmets of this age you often have to accept repairs, conversions, etc. Even so, I am not wild about the two extra pairs of holes - what could they have been for? And what is that extra split pin under the plate?! It looks to me like a total...

I can't understand why someone paid what they did for this. It looks to me like either a complete repro or at best a rebuild. It'd be helpful if someone more clued up on pickelhaubes than I am could give an opinion. Thanks...
