That may explain what I took to be IR93 plates, they are actually instructors with the NCO School Wappen.

Did you notice some of the Wappen worn? I saw at least two NCO with Guard plates, an Officer with a Baden, an Officer with an IR 92 and a couple of NCOs with IR 93 (or similar type).

I know these guys, nice people but---. They pay top dollar for stuff and sell for top dollar plus. Their knowledge of Imperial Head gear is very limited and don't always end up with the best stuff.

Small sizes survived because all the big one were issued and used. Not that long age a few collector friends and I got together, looking at an original uniform one of them commented about people being " a lot smaller back then". It made me think of the first issue uniforms I received upon...

Yes, I'm of the option that my helmet never had a spike. That it was purchased as a "Service Dress" item.

I have one helmet that has a set of white markings and Red markings in the body and a black stamping on the visor.

I understand why someone would want a spike for their M'15, but remember that while at the front they were worn with out. So yours is in field serve configuration.
