    Green felt pickelhaube

Seems like a fairly nice felt pickelhaube. Seems a little odd having the green spike with brass eagle, too bad it has the stiched repair but the chin strap is great. I am figuring maybe late 1915 manufacture. Any thoughts are welcome. Jim

    Green Felt pickelhaube

As I say my buddy stores these in in a pole barn, well the mice got at this one. Are these cloth helmets more or less scarce/desirable? Thanks, Jim

Not sure what the number means but figured I would share. Jim

    Another 1891 Reserve Officers Helmet

Another helmet form the "bag O helmets". I believe this to be a reserve officers helmet due to the cross on the front of the crest. It is more substantial/higher quality than the others. NO idea why the leather patch on top and of course the screws are wrong. Yep, the visor is missing and on...

    1891 Model Officers Pickelhaube

Would appreciated comments and confirmation. I believe this is a model 1891 officers helmet, the sheetmetal plate inside the helmet has been modified and three of the four screw which hold on the spike are steel. Figure somebody messed with this one, is it more or less what it appears...

    Prussian Police Officer's Pickelhaube

Here is what I believe to be a WWI era Prussian Police officer's Pickelhaube. Three for the four scres holding on the spike are wrong and the crest doesn't fit too well. Figure just a regular guys helmet as is has a leather liner. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Jim

    Silver fitting, Mystery Officers Helmet

Did a little web surfing but didn't find this crest (yet). If anybody knows what it is off hand it would be great. Thinking officer due to the liner, the scalloped chin strap makes me think mounted supply train. The metal gets bright green tarnish, seems like silver to me. Of course the...

    Shot up Cavalry pickelhaube

I think this is a standard pre-war cavalry helmet. Has two bullet entry holes on the right side and two parrallel exit holes on the left side, machine gun maybe? Liner only has the cloth with an American sounding name written on long ago. Jim

    Pre WWI Prussian Pickelhaube

Another pickelhaube from my buddy's bag purchase, this is the of the ones I cleaned up, may pick up a few more to clean next time I am in the area. Brass fittings, non removable spike so I am figuring Prussian pre-WWI. Ford the cross on the front mean it was a reserve unit? Not sure what the...

    Reworked 1891? Prussian Pickelhaube

Kind of rough shape but wondering what you think this is. Based on the 1891 mark, combined with the extra holes and the silver parts I am guessing this is a 1891 manufactured helmet that was retrofitted, thus the extra holes (see I am learning). Any idea on the unit mark? I looked at the...

1907 Baden NCO Pickelhaube with cover

This is the second helmet I got from the local lady. I figure it is from Baden issued to a NCO of a supply train. Helmet has 1907 on the inside of the back flange so I figure that is the date it was made. IF anyone has the other half of the chin strap available and maybe the other grommet I...

    1916 Lobster Tail Pickelhaube

This is one of two pickelhauben I picked up a few months back from a local lady. Claims she is the granddaugher of the vet that brought them back. Has all sorts of his US stuff but only these two German items. I believe this to be a Prussian cavalry or Grenedier, I guess an enlisted man who...

    WWI German Guards Officer Helmet

Hope this post comes across well, it is my first. Wondering what I have, I believe it is a WWI German Officiers Prussian Guards helmet. Not really sure what "guards" means. Would appreciate and info. Is there a book I could buy to get more info? I have a couple other picklehauben and my...
