Thank you everyone for your help, I have spoken to my friend and I have asked him to mention to his son that I will give him some cash for the helmet if he would prefer that. I have some pictures of another Pickelhaube that is up for grabs that I will put details on another post. D.

I have passed on your comments, he has asked me if I want it, I don't so it looks like his grandson will get the option, but somehow I don't think that he will want it, I don't know of any youngsters who would.

Brian, Thankyou. I have now had the opportunity to examine the Pickelhaube very closely, it is extremely well put together, the workmanship is top notch, all the fastenings appear not to have been touched or undone whatsoever, and all appear uniform. Regards, Derek.
