1870s Prussian Soldiers

This great photo was purchased by my father in the late 1970s from The Fox Hole Auctions. That auction house was run by Ron Manion and was the precursor to Manion's Auctions. He graciously gifted it to me about a year ago. It is normally in its old frame, but I removed it to get a good scan.

I remember Ron Manion very well
The first time that I saw him was at an old OVMS show before the drawbridge shows
He was wearing a Coonskin cap.

One of my favorite photos of this period (I deleted an archive sign of the 3rd Reich).
It shows Emperor Wilhelm I.‘s last visit at the war school in Potsdam (May 3rd, 1887) - soldiers still with M71 helmets.
