Recently acquired a Saber dedicated to Das Offizier Corps des Rittmeisters von Hartell 1st Westfalisches Husaren Regiment Number 8. dated 1888. On the reverse is a list of 27 Officers in his command.

Made of Damascus Steel by A. Werth

I am looking for a Scabbard for the Saber. Measurements 32' (82.28cm) for the Blade. 11/5 (2.96cm) Blade width.
Back Bone .23 in (.58cm). 5.5 in (13.85) from the Hilt to the first curve of the blade.

Can't help with a scabbard but I can tell you that the sword belonged to Rittmeister Friedrich v. HERTELL (1851-1919). A presentation piece on his posting to Husaren-Regiment Nr. 10 in 1888. He retired as a Major in 1902 from Husaren-Regiment Nr. 11. Recalled for service in WW1, he commanded the POW camp at Wittenberg and died as an Oberstleutnant a.D. on 8 August 1919.

Regards
Glenn

VERY nice sword. I wold suggest scouring e-Bay Germany as I see loose scabbards of various types for sale there relatively frequently...good luck!
