1942 British Slouch Hat- Burmese Campaign

Not mine but the property of the owners son who asked me to post here as he is in bad health. Belonged to Captain Edwin Eastwood Rayner, one of two signals officers to Major General Francis Festing, Commander of the 36th Infantry Division 1942-45, during the Arakan offensive in Burma. This hat is not the one seen in the picture below but was his 'best' parade version and is in very good condition apart from what looks like a moth nip at the brim edge.
