After a while, I continue.
Shoulder strap of the captain (Rittmeister) of the 24th Crimean Border Guard brigade of His Imperial Majesty. Russian Empire 1913-1917. Very rare shoulder-strap. Crimea was part of the Russian Empire at that time.
During the First World War, the border regiments took part in battles. Although the border brigades were part of the Ministry of Finance, not the Military Ministry.
This shoulder strap was not authorized. The shoulder straps of Border Guard according to Order of H. M. Emperor Nicholas II they should have had a single green pipe. Here we see a two-tone pipe. It was the fashion among the Border Guard officers, as I read. In general, Russian soldiers and officers often violated orders regarding shoulder straps. I have not yet seen this among German soldiers and officers.
