I saw this pickelhaube and I screenshotted this picture (sorry, I do not know who on the forum owns it to give credit).
It features an eagle with the swaz. I would have thought it was police, and I still think it is. It is different than the HJ eagle pictured as the HJ one is holding a hammer, but the similarities are noticeable. Of course, the wappen is very similar to the Leib Kurassier 1 wappen.
I also have a friend with this Saxon municipality fire dept featuring a wappen with a swaz. Same story.
Any resources to find out more about these? I would like to see when municipalities made the switch to the police shakos or fire police standards.
