Hello,
Here's one I picked up recently from a more unusual regiment to find.
Nicely issue stamped: "3 Th.J.R. 71" on back visor. But unfortunately there is No Battalion Stamping.
1914 dated on rear visor and inside, with Maury & Co. maker mark, and a nice size "58" marking as well.
Came with an original chinstrap that has flaking to the surface finish.
Unfortunately no kokardes were with the helmet.
Jim Turinetti's book "Imperial German Headgear (1884-1914) Field Guide" shows the 2nd & 3rd Battalion's being stationed at Erfurt, and wearing Prussian Kokardes. The 1st Battalion was stationed at Sonderhausen, and wore the White with Blue Stripe Kokarde for Sonderhausen.
Best Regards,
Alan
