They both have M52 cavalry sabers so likely sometime before 1890

Really enjoying these images. Bob did you know you can estimate the date of a Sabre by the scabbard?

For the scabbard, two rings on a steel scabbard indicates pre-1906, in 1906 the lower ring was ordered removed, then in 1910 all scabbards were to be blackened.
