I agree, it does have its good points (the plate, rare model, etc), but it would be a real job to restore it! I'm sure somebody is up to it, but I don't think I'm in there with that one.

How do the Kokarden attach over that style of chinstrap mount?

Oh wow. What a shame. One of the last Models on my list is an M1887. :sad3:

Brad, there is a hole in the centre of the Kokarde, and a tiny hole underneath. The M1887 mount had split brads to attach it to the shell of the helmet, and a pin on the bottom to prevent it from rotating. This pin fit through the hole on the Kokarde. So the Kokarde was underneath and not meant to be removed.
