A challenge for Brian

Thanks for the vote of confidence but that thing needs to be shot to make sure its truly dead, then buried! :)
 
Sometimes heavily damaged items can be instructive. I discovered recently that the visor of a private-purchase style Tschapka is (at least in this case) actually a cardboard-like piece sandwiched between two very thin pieces of leather. The the "lid" section of that balding, battered busby might be similarly constructed...leather glued to cardboard.
