Dear members,

I am glad to share with you a very recent acquistion on a flea market.
Although missing Kokarden ( chin strap is probably also a copy), I like that Prussian enlisted man M15 Pickelhaube.

It is nicely marked " Franz Cobau Berlin" and it has also a nice stamp with the date 1917 but I am not able to read the other stamps details.
It looks to have been (period ?) repaired around the holes for the front plate.

I think I can also read BJA XVIII, (Bekleidungs-Instandsetzung-Amt XVIII) for clothing repair office XVIII Armee Korps.

I "just" need to find the right Kokarden and chin strap !

regards

That is a very nice example, congratulations. The repair work looks original to me. It is typical to what I have seen on many helmets. Good markings as well 👍

Thanks Brian and Sandmann !
I am very happy with that one !
Would you say chinstrap is original ? It is very thick !

The chin strap is definitely too big for the helmet. I suspect something modern made using old leather.
