I can't understand why someone paid what they did for this. It looks to me like either a complete repro or at best a rebuild. It'd be helpful if someone more clued up on pickelhaubes than I am could give an opinion.

I am not entirely sure, but it could be a very nice example of a dragoon helmet.

I agree its a repro, my first impression was completely wrong. Thanks lads for teaching me something today :D
