Any chance this is real?

Obviously the Wappen is incorrect as are the Kokarden, but is there a chance that the shell, spike, chinstraps, etc are original?

Yes, but who knows what the reserve is. Wasn't there a General officer's helmet with the Garde Wappen on a Ku. body? I don't think it would go for the EM version though, unless it was for the soldier of the month.

I'm going to pass. It's currently at $579.00 and the reserve has not been met, and the shipping is $60.52. Too much considering all the parts I would have to search for and buy. I am also a little skeptical when I look at the photos. The shell seems a little too "chromed" to me.
Shouldn't this model also have a ridge in the back above the lobster tail?

John :(

Added note: I researched this again and found that this model did not have the ridge that I was referring to.

Ron ;
You are correct
There is an officers helmet like this .
Normal officer's Kurassiere body
with a Garde eagle .
I think that Jim T. might own one .
Also if anyone still the old Col. Rankin book
on spiked helmets
I think one is shown in there
a group photo of the old, former Cliff B. Foster collection .

the seller on EBay says " All Sales Final "
he does list a nice Saxon Feldgrau
also a Prussian Landwehr officer
do the chin straps look curved ?
