Arthur Brühe book: Von Aachen bis Haelen

Fine little book ! Manuscript only printed in 10 copies. 12. August 1984. 70th anniversary of the battle.

Lucky me: This is his copy: the number 3.

He served as a Kürassier in the 3.Eskadron des Kürassier Regiments "Königin", Pommersches Nr. 2-Pasewalk

He visited Halen 44 years after the battle : 13. August 1958

July 2013: It all started with my translation of this little manuscript by former Kürassier Arthur Brühe.
August 2013: Joe and Janet must have thought: this "old" Adjudant (Warrant Officer) of the Belgian Army must be crazy enough to join in...into a new book project...
The matter of fact he did join in !
Countless hours behind the computer; translating from German (Frakturschrift); Dutch and French to English. Many miles (thank you Sabine-AKA Missus Boss!!!) in the car. A few days digging in dusty archives. Sleepless nights. The ORBAT (Order of Battle)? Missing units ? Quantity of Machineguns ? Trying to understand the eight German Cavalry charges. Dreaming about participating in these charges :-?...

But...Meeting great people. Having fine Belgian beers !! The honour of meeting Janet and Joe on the Battlefield in Halen ! Priceless !

The result ?: pick the link to this great website http://www.pickelhauben.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and scroll down a bit.

I just finished in reorganizing the piles of books and stuff that were needed to do the work. (and that have been all around our living room all that time).
All on the "Halen Shelf" now.

Thank you !
Francis
