I think this could be best described as a 'salty' helmet! I'd love to know what its history is.

Salty indeed .

That is some repair to the inside dome. Is that a gray piece of leather or cloth ?

Looks like somebody painted the entire thing black at some point in time. That is indeed an odd looking repair.

Currently £460 with 18 hours to go, so obviously some folk are keen! It's certainly a helmet with character.

C/S looks to have been broken and glued around the right buckle area.
