Baden with M87 hooks, but..

Well its a police helmet, but after all. The cocarde indicates Baden (brass with red ring). The lower part of the two-piece plate is missing, do you have any references about that? Could it be similar to the prussian model (Example) which would fit the crown nicely?

There is a slight inward dent on the right side, I guess I will approach that with the Goretex-method.

I dont think so, because it is definitely not broken off. It is a clean two-piece plate with each part secured with its own (and only one) screw. Or did you mean a "King Ludwig II" L-shaped part as on a Raupenhelm?

The bavarian helmets of the time that I know of are all completely different though, with lion-head chin strap retainer etc.
