Seeing as I have the camera out,....lets go Bavarian!!!
OR white paint with blue ring from my M15 Bavarian helme:
Regarding colour, your eyes do not deceive you, there are variations in the blue of each kokarden. However, all are original. One other comment re the metalic silver backing colour: All Bavarian officer kokarden that I have seen are a matte metalic silver colour. You will also note that the inner ring is smooth, no hash marks in the ring or ridges. I believe, that all repros including Randy's have the Prussian style ring with ridges and hash marks painted blue. After all, why manufacture a smooth ring officer kokarde for just on State? Making repro parts of any kind is very expensive. The OR's kokarden come in 2 types (as shown) the silver taken from an M95 helme and a plain white paint with blue ring, in this case from an M15 helme.
