This pickelhaube is coming my way. I cannot determine if the spike is that of a general spike. Any comment?

Yes Amy, it is the correct spike. I know this helmet...
It has a particularity: the older style Bavarian plate with laurel leaves. Since the enameled General plate was adopted just before WW1, all of these plates should be of the simplified type without leaves, and most are, actually. Do not worry though, some were produced with the "old" plate style, hence this is perfectly legit. It makes your helmet even more rare...
