Smooth spike, round visor, side-mounted cockade, + lion heads = police?

Either that or a parts helmet. I see he messed up with 'fluted spike' in the description / title, but I don't think that's a big deal. In the 1920's, a lot of tourists brought back helmets, seems like this might be one? I really don't know what it might be.

The cockade indicates a post-war helmet. Police helmets from before 1918-1920 had the Bavarian state colors on the left side. Of course the front plate is wrong too.

Yes, Post-war Bavarian Police.

1920's up to early 1930's era, from what I understand.

I had one 25-years ago straight out of the woodwork, and sold it at the wolderful old Great Western Gun & Knife Show in Pomona, California, after I found out it was a police helmet. Mine didn't have the ventilated sweatband, as this eBay example has.

All the Best,

Alan
