Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment 16

Well-known member
Kraus in his one volume book on page 286 shows a visor For RJR 16. Identified to this regiment on the back, this picture from the Kostel collection shows a separate variation.

I know there was a famous member of this regiment but this individual was not him. This guy name was Richard Wallenreuter, he died in 1914.

:D
Wachstuchmutze on a Reservist?

The variations almost seem endless. Bavaria immediately upon mobilization -- didn't last long. Kraus I think does a reasonable job. I'm still in search of pictures of some of the helmets Lacarde has.

Do you have many or any of the tropical helmet variety? Seems like I'm headed that way right now. I've sort of been hit with a collecting bug -- I have to have to have to have!

Joe,

Unteroffizier Richard Wallenreuther of 5./B.R.I.R. 16 was killed during the fighting at Ypres on 18 November 1914. He was born on 8 January 1883 at Tegernsee.

Regards
Glenn
