Bayonet frog

I recently bought a k98 bayonet, but it came with this frog.
Apart from the fact it's unfortunately damaged, it seems to have a 1916 manufacturing date. Maybe from a WW1 S84/98? There's another marking looking a bit like Reit. R1 but I'm not entirely sure.

Hi,
Nice frog, 1916 date fits with the iron rivets, these narrow frogs are much rarer than the wider 98/05 frogs.
Reit. R. 1. I read as Reiter Regiment Nr. 1., a Reichswehr unit (i.e. just after WW 1).
