Hey guy's, if you ever pass by any Belgian headgear, please let me know.
Looking for any kind of 19th and early 20 century headgear; police, firefighter, customs, etc...even civilian services.

First time to see one of these keep us posted if you find one of those rare birds

That is a funny thing to look at

Got the original die which was used to made the lion crest! That is as close as I can get to the original one so far...
One of the die's can be seen here, in front is a copy of the crest.

I was quiet lucky last week, a guy I used to know but lost track, reappeared and got me this;

Does anyone know of a reference book (or website) that details Belgian headgear? Very hard to find information or even photos.

Hey Francis,
thanks!
It says Sapeurs Pompiers de la ville d'Anvers. In French.
Flemish on Flemish/Belgian governmental services only appeared (far!) after WWI.
The transitional period was in the two languages.
For example; the Leopold orde (medal) that had his motto only in French before 1952.
My guess for this helmet is 1850/1880.
