At least he points out that the chin strap may be a reproduction, and the auction also has the make an offer on it. I was at a gun show in Yuma Arizona last year, there was a vendor there who had one of these, it was missing the front peak, chin strap, Kockarden and liner. The rest of the helmet was in rather poor condition and he was asking $700, his reasoning was that it was over 100 years old.
I wonder how many people use ebay to get an appraisal by posting something with a very high reserve.

Holy cow Gus!

I was there in Yuma at the same gun show last year and saw the same helmet helmet missing the front visor. Let me know the next time you are in the area and I will make it a point to link up with you.

I am planning on being there the November show, I think it is around the 7th. I will probably hit the January show too if they have one, but I could not find a schedule for it.
