Brass 'Doughboy' helmet

This one interested me. As you can see, it's a brass 'doughboy' helmet. It hasn't arrived yet, but they said it's full size. Would this be for a veteran's organization, like the aluminum versions? I've never seen a brass one before. $10 so, what th' heck.
Any insights?

Hello Ron.

I just saw this post of your recently acquired brass United States Army helmet... I will be curious to learn whether the helmet is solid brass or brass plated... keep us posted. Most unusual and very interesting find... and for ten dollars... well done!

It's solid brass. I'm going to post it in 'latest find' to see if anybody has more insight. It's slightly different than other veteran 'parade' helmets I've seen.

Hi Ron,

Again, I will be interested in whatever you might find out about your most unusual helmet. As you can see from my posts my interest is in British dragoon helmets and have only a cursory knowledge of helmets worn by The United States Army during and the post World War One period so your findings will be a bit of an education!
